Manual Count

Manual counting is done by a person using a manual count board to record data at intersections, roadways or for short term counts in general. The user of a manual count board, presses keys depending on the study type and data collection wanted to record counts and classification as needed.

Manual counts are mainly used to track intersection traffic or to perform classification type studies on highways to compare against ATR (automatic traffic recorder) sites to prove unit accuracies and calibration.
